ADLS contact proves rewarding for Megan Kennelly, Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology

March 15, 2011 -

Megan Kennelly, Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology, invited speaker Dr. Sally Miller from Ohio State in 2008 as part of the ADVANCE Distinguished Lectureship Series. Dr. Kennelly reports that Dr. Miller’s connection helped lead to a five-year project funded by the US Agency for International Development. Included in this funding were travel expenses to Tajikistan in June 2010. This project/travel in turn has led to further funding in the amount of about $20,000 to bring scientists from Tajikistan to K-State. “I’ve had a series of speakers through ADLS and every visit has been very productive” Kennelly states.

The ADLS is ongoing – the most recent round recently closed, and a new call for applications will be issued in October. We strongly encourage all eligible faculty to apply.
